🚀 What is Odoo Community Edition?

Odoo Community Edition is an open source enterprise management software that offers a vast set of business modules to meet the different needs of your company. Among the main modules are: finance (billing and expenses), sales and CRM, inventory and purchasing, manufacturing (ERP), human resources, website creation and e-commerce, as well as marketing and productivity tools.

🔍 Installing Odoo Community Edition

Access the Marketplace tab near the top right corner and search for Odoo Community Edition.

When accessing the installer, you need to choose the Odoo version, environment name, display name on the panel, and the region where it will be installed.

The following Odoo versions are available on the platform:

  • 16;
  • 16.0;
  • 16.0-20250819;
  • 17;
  • 17.0;
  • 17.0-20250819

Currently, the available regions are São Paulo, Fortaleza, and Brasília.

After completing the installation, the access URL and the Master Password will be sent to the email account registered on the platform.

⚙️ Configuring the Odoo Community Edition database

To finish, you need to fill in the following fields in the Odoo Community Edition database configuration.

  • Master Password: enter the master password received in the installation email;
  • Database Name: enter a name for the database;
  • Email: enter a valid email account to access Odoo;
  • Password: set a password for Odoo access;
  • Phone Number: enter a valid phone number;
  • Language: select the desired language;
  • Country: select the desired country;
  • Demo Data: check this option if you want to create a database populated with random data for testing, training, and demonstrations.

If you want to restore a database, just click on or restore a database.

  • Master Password: enter the master password received in the installation email;
  • File: select the backup file;
  • Database Name: enter a name for the database;
  • Neutralize: this option puts the database into test mode, so real services - like mail server, payment, and carriers - are disabled;

When finished, you will be directed to the Odoo Community Edition Dashboard.
